Polymer and Prosecco evenings
Looking for something interesting and unusual to do together for a birthday or special event?
A 'polymer and prosecco' evening would be a fun and thoughtful joint gift. You could even make a memento of the occasion!

You'll learn how to condition the clay, choose colours, and make intricate patterns in the clay using the 'millefiori' technique.
You will then be shown how to make a range of items, jewellery and accessories from your cane. You can even stamp your items with a special name or date.

Price £54 per person, minimum of five (£270).
​
All clay, equipment and assorted "findings" to finish your pieces are included in the price - you just supply the people and the Prosecco!

I will bring pasta machines (used to condition the clay and mix colours), worksurfaces, blades and all required tools. As well as plenty of clay in loads of different colours.
​
Timing: I normally arrive about twenty minutes before the party starts to set up. Clearing up at the end takes a similar amount of time - so the whole thing lasts about three and a half to four hours. 7pm-11pm works well!
​
Distance: I'm based in Reigate, Surrey. I'm happy to travel (within reason!) but I think of 25 miles each way as my geographic limit, and I do add a mileage charge for distances over 5 miles and for travel into London.
Want to throw a polymer party to remember? Here's what you'll need...

enough space - all the participants should be able to sit and stand comfortably round a table, and to be able to get up frequently and pass each other / move around

a sturdy table or worktop with a bit of an overhang - one of the fun bits of polymer clay is mixing colours and softening the clay using pasta machines, but they need to be clamped firmly onto something. If your 'main' table is large and sturdy enough, we can use that. Otherwise a kitchen worktop edge or two will be needed.

a non-carpeted floor - polymer bits do tend to get everywhere. Although it's not sticky and won't stain, it's quite likely to get trodden in.

reasonably sensible participants - we use sharp blades to cut the clay, so the odd cut finger is inevitable. I do carry plasters!

a protective table covering if appropriate - I bring a tile worktop for each participant and these usually take the punishment from blades and rollers, but if your table is precious, a non-slip protective cover is advisable.

an oven and a couple of flat baking trays - one of the great things about polymer is that it can be cured in a home oven at about 130 degrees centigrade. I normally start to cure pieces in the last thirty minutes of the party so that guests can take their creations home completely finished.
