Polymer workshop dates 2017, and a DoodlePippin bangle-making tutorial to buy...

This week I finally got around to updating my website with all my 2017 workshops - lots of people asked to be notified, so here they are:

I run three different types of polymer workshops: beginners, intermediate and kids. All run in the craft room upstairs at Hobbycraft Crawley (click here for a map).

Adult beginner workshops

Come and learn how to choose colours, condition the clay, and create beautiful patterns using the ancient glassworking technique, millefiori. We will then turn your designs into jewellery, tableware and lots of other items. Click here for more info

  • Tuesday 21 March from 10.30 - 1.30pm - adult beginner

  • Sunday 14th May, 1-4pm - adult beginner

  • Wednesday 19th July 10.30-1.30 - adult beginner

£36 including materials.

Intermediate polymer workshops

If you've done my beginner's workshop, or already know a bit about polymer and millefiori, this one is for you. We will be covering the all-important Skinner Blend including some tips and tricks to get the best out of it, and then using our own colour gradients to create complex and subtle canes. Click here for more info

Thursday 22nd June, 10.30-1.30pm

Fri 27th Oct, 10.30-1.30pm

£36 including materials

Kids Workshop

I'm afraid my January workshop is already full, so if you'd like your kids to have a play with polymer and make models, patterns, keyrings, fridge magnets and bag charms as well as various items of jewellery, I'll be running my only kids workshop at Hobbycraft in September.

  • Sunday 17th September, 10.30-12pm

£22 including materials.

Alternative dates are available....

If none of these dates suit you, or there aren't enough spaces left, I'm really happy to put on an extra date for your group - minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 people. Just give me an idea of date and I'll check with the venue.

Polymer tutorial and designer profile in Making Jewellery!

If you're a keen polymer person and would like to have a go at the millefiori technique, I've had a tutorial published this month in Making Jewellery magazine. The tutorial shows you - step by step - how to make two different patterns and then how to turn them into pendants, earrings and bangles.

The magazine's widely available from UK newsagents.

I'm also delighted that DoodlePippin (and me!) were featured in this issue as part of their "Designer Profile" series.
