Learn the essential 'skinner blend' - and build some beautiful complex canes!
My first intermediate workshop is on Thursday next week - we'll be covering the all-important skinner blend technique, and using it as the basis for some subtle and beautiful polymer patterns.
This friendly, informal class is suitable for anyone who's already done my beginner's class, or who has some experience with polymer millefiori 'caning'.You don't need to be 'intermediate' level for this class - just to know how to condition clay, and to have a rough idea how colours will combine with each other. We'll start by choosing colours to blend, turning them into a graduated sheet, and then using that sheet as the basis for two different (more advanced) cane designs.
I love the way these patterns turn out - they're so much more subtle than the single colour canes - and they have the potential to be really "William Morris-esque". I'll be bringing my usual range of tools and findings, so we'll finish the session by making some gorgeous pieces from your canes.Date: 10.30-1.30 Thursday 22nd JuneLocation: Hobbycraft Crawley.Click here for more info.
